One of the information collected in the contracts is the duration of the contract, which will determine the period of time for which a room, home, or part of it is rented. But, what happens if I need to extend my stay, or on the contrary I need to terminate the contract earlier than expected?
It is clear that we are going through a time of great uncertainty, in which everyone has learned that things can change from one moment to another, and without warning. That is why, first of all, we want to make it clear that from Barcelona Student Housing, we are fully committed to the situations generated as a result of the pandemic, and that therefore we have greater flexibility in cases of early contract terminations due to of the Covid-19.
These special conditions include the return of the deposit without penalties in case of having to leave the apartment, or room, because of a justified reason as a result of the pandemic. Through these more flexible conditions, we want to do our bit and help all those who may be affected by an unprecedented situation, which has caused the closure of borders, limitation of mobility and that a large number of trainings and courses are now taught electronically, eliminating the need to attend face-to-face classes.
However, you should know that by signing a contract, you are establishing a relationship between two parties, so that both have obligations, and may incur penalties in case of not fulfilling them. This would be the case of the cancellation of the contract in advance, which, if not for a justified reason and notifying in advance, could lead to the loss of the deposit.
