Some of our students have decided not to return to their home countries this summer and spend these months in their student flat in Barcelona until classes resume in September.
With the current situation, not making long trips by plane has been the option chosen by many of our residents. Luckily, Barcelona is an ideal destination to spend a summer, since you have many plans to enjoy. This year, with fewer tourists, the city is even more pleasant and allows you to calmly visit the most touristic points of the city without crowds.
But if what you want is to get out of the city, within two hours you have many charming towns in rural settings less than two hours by car from your student flat in Barcelona. The best option if you do not have your own car, is to rent one since there are towns that are very close to each other, and so you can take advantage of getting to know two in the same getaway. What do you think of the plan?
These are the 4 towns that we recommend you to visit this summer as a student in Barcelona, ??one for each weekend of July
This small medieval town is in the province of Girona, very close to the French border and about 150 kilometers from Barcelona.
It is surrounded by a spectacular natural environment. Stroll through its cobbled streets enjoying its corners and monuments, among which the church of Sant Cristòfol stands out.
A large number of routes can be made in its surroundings to enjoy this beautiful area in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees and fill your lungs with fresh air.
We are still in the province of Girona, very close to Beget.
134 kilometers from Barcelona, ??we discover this other medieval town, considered one of the best preserved in Spain.
One of its main attractions is its spectacular fortified bridge, which served as the entrance to the town crossing the Fluviá river. Visit the Jewish quarter, the Sant Pere Monastery and the San Vicenç church.
This is one of our favorite towns, it really seems that you have traveled in time. If you go at lunchtime, there are some restaurants with views of the Fuvià river that are super nice.
We are still in the same area, about 120 kilometers from Barcelona.
This is a small town that defies gravity by peeking out from the top of a 50 meter high basaltic rock.
Be sure to visit the church of Sant Salvador, from where you can enjoy wonderful views. Besides, Castellfullit is the gateway to the Garrocha Volcanic Zone Natural Park, another reason to enjoy a few days in this charming charming town near your student flat in Barcelona.
We leave the interior and go to the Catalan coast, specifically the Costa Brava, one of the most beautiful places in Catalonia and that you can enjoy less than two hours from your student apartment in Barcelona.
Cadaqués is about 170 kilometers from Barcelona, ??in the heart of the Costa Brava and framed by the beautiful setting of Cap de Creus. Cadaqués is a beautiful fishing village, home and source of inspiration for Salvador Dalí. Don't miss its House-Museum.
You can also enjoy idyllic beaches and coves to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea.
